Job Summary:
Maintain the day-to-day operation, administrative functions, and supervision of the Right Start for Young Mothers Program and Right Start Transitional Living Annex. This position will seek to ensure trauma-informed care and the creation and maintenance of a trauma-informed environment on the unit.
Essential Functions of the position:
- Provide all aspects of supervision of counseling staff including hiring, training, one-on-one supervision with staff biweekly and disciplining.
- Facilitate and document meetings.
- Oversee all unit documentation to assure accuracy.
- Develop and oversee staff work schedule.
- Enforce Bethesda Lutheran Services policies and procedures that pertain to overall program management.
- Communicate with outside agencies, families, and other professionals on a regular basis.
- Coordinates program specific community referrals to meet the needs of the program i.e. Meadville Medical Center New Life Unit, WIC, Head Start/Early Intervention.
- Facilitate intake procedures.
- Be available on an on-call basis for emergency consultation, basic medical consultation, crisis intervention, & behavior management backup.
- Ensure all treatment needs of residents are met.
- Ensure all medical needs of residents are met by working closely with agency nurse.
- Assist placing counties with appropriate after-care services for residents.
- Responsible for the counting, ordering, and dispensing of medications.
- Accountable for unit and resident’s monies.
- Act as liaison with Saegertown High School
- Fulfill counselor’s role as needed.
Required Education, Experience and Clearances:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human services field preferred with one year of experience working directly with children; or an Associate Degree or 60 college credits and three years of experience working directly with children.
- Two years of experience as Youth Support Specialist with one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- A valid driver’s license preferred.
- FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances may be required dependent on residency status.
