Accreditation and Awards 
The various service programs of Bethesda Lutheran Services are licensed in Pennsylvania by the Department of Education, Department of Public Welfare’s Office of Children, Youth and Families or Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

Program evaluation focused on adherence to licensing standards and program quality, take place on at least an annual basis.

Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO)
Bethesda Lutheran Services is also accredited through JCAHO.

An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies nearly 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards. 

If a consumer has a concern about safety or quality of care they may contact The Joint Commission to file a report. Reports can be submitted via mail to the following address:
