ReFocus Room Support Staff | Fort LeBeouf School District | Part Time Position
Job Summary:
Provide supervision, guidance, emotional, and educational support for students in refocus, in-school suspension, lunch detention, or morning supervised study. This is a school-year based position, summers off. Paid year round.
Essential Functions of Position:
1. Prepare assignments given to students while in Refocus or In-School Suspension (ISS).
2. Obtain books and/or assignments for students in ISS and return completed or incomplete work to the appropriate teachers.
3. Reviews, encourages, and reinforces proper behavior in the school environment or in social situations.
4. Establish classroom rules and consistent classroom management.
5. Actively engage students having emotional difficulty utilizing the Life Space Interview process.
6. Conference with students having trouble in their academics. This includes assisting them work through problems that may hinder their success, helping to
develop coping skills, study skills and organizational skills.
7. Assist students de-escalate in stressful situations and help them to rationalize
their experiences.
8. Complete a daily log on a designated access database which to track student activity/progress.
9. Escort students upon availability.
10. Actively engage the students that are having emotional difficulty.
11. Facilitate therapeutic group sessions as needed in the classroom.
12. Designs behavioral interventions specific to student needs.
13. Provides student-centered counseling.
14. Works collaboratively with school to compliment the school district educational, behavioral, and emotional interventions
Salary: Part-time- School Based - $37,500-$40,000 per year
