Job Summary:

Responsible for the coordination of family engagement, youth recreation and leisure activities, program promotion, parent advocacy and transportation of youth to a variety of appointments, as well as assists with the placement and admission of youth. While performing this position, employee will seek to ensure trauma-informed care and the creation and maintenance of a trauma-informed environment.


Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Facilitate recreational and leisure activities with the youth that increase personal confidence and encourage self-awareness.
  • Facilitate monthly informational group for youth to develop interest in recreation, leisure activities and the development of hobbies.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and notification for family engagement events and activities, maintaining and documenting monthly contact with families.
  • Assists with the placement of referrals, intake screening and admission from county to residential programs.
  • Coordinate, schedule and transport youth to medical appointments.
  • Responsible for ensuring new youth obtain initial medical, dental and eye exams as required by regulations.
  • Ensure all paperwork accompanies youth to medical appointments and is returned to the Director of Medical Services.
  • Obtain and submit receipts for co-pays and/or any out-of-pocket medical expenses incurred during appointments.
  • Create a monthly activity calendar and coordinate daily recreational, leisure and social activities and outings.
  • Develop contacts and coordinate regular community service opportunities.
  • Supervise the youth during recreational, leisure and social integration activities and complete any necessary documentation following activities.
  • Maintain safety during activities and events by using behavior management techniques according to policy.
  • Assist with campus coverage as needed.


Required Education, Experience and Clearances:


  • High School Diploma or GED is required, Bachelor’s Degree in human services related field preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances    may be required dependent on residency status. 


Pay:

  • $18.00-$20.00 per hour
