Job Description:
School-based program. Working school day hours as a classroom monitor, assisting in classroom management and providing intensive behavior and mental health support including applying identified therapeutic interventions in the classrooms.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Provide behavioral backup in school setting and crisis intervention.
- Assist in design, coordination, and implementation of summer school program.
- Liaison between Bethesda Lutheran Services and involved outside agencies, schools, parents, etc.
- Supervision backup on field trips.
- Maintenance of assigned Bethesda student’s files.
- Plan and implement therapeutic groups as designated.
- Assist with scheduling and planning as needed.
- Work in conjunction with other staff to form efficient, effective, and cohesive team.
- Supervise client self administration of medication.
- Assists with campus coverage as needed
Required Education, Experience and Clearances:
- A High School Diploma with at least two years of experience in a mental health or closely related field required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- One to two years’ experience in the mental health and/or adolescent field
- Knowledge of CASSP and special education principles.
- FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances may be required dependent on residency status. Successful applicants must have clearances in hand before they can start at Bethesda.
