Job Title: Drug & Alcohol Coordinator Classification: PART TIME

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Trinity Center

Immediate Supervisor: Trinity Center Supervisor


Job Summary:


Plan, implement, and direct drug and alcohol prevention programming to youth and their families in the After School Program, Summer Programming, Outreach Drumming, and in area schools.


Essential Functions of the Position: 


Plan and implement Drug & Alcohol Prevention activities using approved programming within the Trinity Center and outside venues including schools and summer programs.


  • Represent the agency while distributing Drug & Alcohol Prevention education materials at community events, staffing a booth and/or providing a presentation.
  • Attend online training for the Life Skills Training Curriculum and facilitate curriculum for different age youth during after school program.
  • Collect and compile data for monthly report and performance-based prevention report.
  • Order prevention materials from appropriate sources.
  • Assist Trinity Center Supervisor with daily youth activities, supervision and community events.
  • Attend county Drug and Alcohol committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with local universities for volunteer opportunities.
  • Support and participate in weekly Police Athletic League (PALS) with youth.

Professional Responsibilities:


1. Understand and fulfill job duties within the scope of the mission statement.

2. Adhere to the policies and procedures of the agency.

3. Establish and maintain professional relationships with all agency personnel, youth, families, and outside agencies.

4. Meet with supervisor monthly for one-on-one supervision to discuss expectations and job duties.

5. Fulfill training requirements as outlined in the Staff Development policy.


Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:


1. Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive demeanor during periods of increased demands on time and attention from multiple sources.

2. Possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written. This includes the ability to converse with youth and families of various socioeconomic backgrounds in a professional manner.

3. Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues and prevention strategies including the ability to maintain a high level of understanding of current trends affecting youth and families.

4. Ability to plan, organize and lead individual and group activities.

5. Ability to speak to a wide audience in a public venue effectively.


Required Education, Experience, and Clearances:


1. Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in the human services field.

2. Experience in drug and alcohol prevention preferred.

3. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

4. Experience working with children and families required.

5. FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances may be required dependent on status

  • Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)


Salary: $20-$23 per Hour
