BETHESDA TO UNVEIL NEW COMMUNITY MURAL AT TRINITY CENTER

ERIE, Pa. (September 2, 2026) — Bethesda Lutheran Services and Bethesda Foundation for Children will host the unveiling of a new community mural at the Bethesda Trinity Center on Tuesday, September 8, at 10 a.m.

Created by Erie artist Christina Wolfe of Wolfe Art Studios, the 18-panel mural brings color and new life to the exterior of the Trinity Center at the intersection of West 18th and Walnut streets. The artwork celebrates community, growth and Bethesda’s mission of providing promising futures for children, youth and families.

Children and youth are at the heart of the mural’s design. Throughout the artwork, young people are depicted participating in activities that reflect their experiences at Bethesda, while additional elements highlight themes of care, connection and empowerment.

The mural also incorporates native plants—including milkweed, coneflower and wild lupine—as well as a monarch butterfly. These details connect the artwork to the natural world and invite the children who see it each day to observe, recognize and learn more about their environment.

“The main audience for this mural are the children who will interact with it daily,” Wolfe said. “Art can make a space beautiful, but I love when it can also make us look, notice, wonder and learn.”

The unveiling will provide an opportunity for community members to view the completed mural, learn more about its creative vision and recognize the individuals and organizations who helped make the project possible. Bethesda and project partners will be available following the unveiling for photos and interviews.

Bethesda extends its gratitude to Wolfe for bringing the mural to life and to the Sisters of Saint Joseph Neighborhood Network and its funding partners—the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Highmark and Marquette Bank—for their support of the project.
