IT Technician

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for hardware/software, operating systems, and network problem resolution. Also responsible for continued upgrading of agency’s information system infrastructure as it relates to the overall agency’s long-term plan.
Essential Functions of the Position:
1. Upgrading network servers and maintaining its components.
2. Installing / Upgrading and setting up the security on each PC.
3. Installing software on each PC.
4. Troubleshooting hardware issues; i.e., printers, CD-ROMS, processors, network
cards / connections.
5. Troubleshooting software issues; i.e., Outlook and Donor Perfect.
6. Maintain the MyEvolv system. Update and maintain the CMHC system.
7. Prepare and maintain reports for MyEvolv if needed.
8. Coordinate maintenance activities; i.e., outside and inside cabling.
9. Coordinate educational technology activities.
10. Travel to off campus locations; i.e. Erie offices and Group Homes.
11. Maintain VPN from Erie to Campus and from Group Homes to Campus.
12. Maintain hardware and software licensing inventories.
Professional Responsibilities:
1. Understand and fulfill job duties within the scope of the mission statement.
2. Adhere to the policies and procedures of the agency.
3. Maintain professional relationships with all agency personnel and outside vendors.
4. Meet with supervisor biweekly for one-on-one supervision to discuss expectations and job duties.
5. Fulfill training requirements as outlined in the Staff Development policy.
Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
1. NT server and Windows server experience required.
2. PC, Printer, Scanner, modem, network card, other hardware experience in
diagnosing, troubleshooting, fixing and documenting problems.
3. Ability to work independently.
4. Coordinate all of the IT requests, status and tracking, considering urgency and
prioritizing work to best meet the needs of the agency.
5. Experience with Windows and with the Internet.
6. Good organizational skills and customer relations skills.
Required Education, Experience, and Clearances:
1. Bachelor’s degree with a focus on programming, database systems applications,
or operating systems preferred. Associate Degree required.
2. MyEvolv software system experience preferred.
3. Network and installation experience required.
4. FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other
clearances may be required dependent on residency status.
Salary: $18-$19 per Hour
