Activity Aide | ERIE Position
Job Summary
Activity aide that helps to providedrug and alcohol prevention programming to children in after school and summer programs at the Trinity Center.
Essential Functions
- Transport students from school to the Trinity Center on a daily basis and to/from field trips as needed.
- Maintain safety of students by using behavior management techniques according to policy
- Act as a positive role model to youth in care by presenting in professional and ethical manner
- Ensure Client/Staff ratio is maintained during all trips.
- Maintain correct records, receipts, and logs for all appointments and outings
- Maintain annual in-service training hours as required by personnel policy
- Assist with planning programming activities for the after-school program
- Organize, set up and prepare for the daily routine of the program including activities, materials and recreation.
- Assist with organizing, set up and prepare for Family Nights, Holiday Dinner, basketball games, and field trips.
- Facilitate groups and activities.
- Actively participate in and supervise recreational activities including games, free time and sports.
- Assist with meal time responsibilities (line transition, supervision during meal times and after meal clean up)
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
1. Must be current with PA Dept. of Transportation vehicle laws
2. Excellent verbal and writing skills
3. Knowledgeable of policy and procedures of the agency
4. Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions while maintaining
positive interactions with children and staff.
5. Ability to work as part of a team where all members contribute equally.
Required Education and Experience
1. High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
2. Must possess valid PA driver license & have a clean driver history
3. Act 33, Act 34, & FBI clearances
4. Experience driving a 10-passenger van preferred.
5. Must be at least 21 years of age
- 6. Experience working with children preferred.
Pay:
$16.00 per hour - 20-25 Hours per week
